Winter dessert apple and nut on vanilla ice cream

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 60 g walnuts
  • 40 g hazelnuts
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 3 apples
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Cinnamon
  • possibly vanilla
  • 10 scoops of vanilla ice cream
  • possibly cream, whipped

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

nutty, quick and delicious – perfect for Christmas

Chop the shelled nuts half coarsely and half finely and toast them in a non-stick pan without fat or oil. Add the honey and let it caramelize. Peel and dice the apples. Remove the nuts from the pan and fry the apples in butter until soft. Add the nuts back in. Season with cinnamon, vanilla, and honey. Place two scoops of vanilla ice cream in each bowl and serve with the still-hot apple and nut mixture. If desired, serve with a dollop of whipped cream.
