Winter grape and pear jelly

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 liters of grape juice, home-made
  • 1 liter pear juice
  • 2 packets of gelling sugar (3:1)
  • 1 tsp gingerbread spice

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Using red grapes from the garden

Bring grape juice, pear juice, gelling sugar, and gingerbread spice to a boil and simmer for 4 minutes. Immediately fill twist-off jars to the brim and seal. It’s the blend that makes the difference. It creates a very pleasant flavor with a wintery note. When I get red grapes in the fall, I boil the grapes, stems included, and pass them through a food processor. This mixture is ideal for this jelly. It’s not a real jelly, because it also contains fruit pulp from the grapes. I buy the pear juice ready-made.
