An old recipe from my grandmother from Worms
Cut the sausage into thin slices and then into thin strips. Dice the pickles, cut the tomato into eighths, peel the hard-boiled egg and slice it with an egg slicer. Combine everything in a large bowl. Mix a little cold water with vinegar, oil, a little pickle juice, pepper, salt, and mayonnaise. Mix well with the ingredients in the bowl and let it sit for about an hour, stirring frequently. This sausage salad can also be prepared the day before, so it can properly marinate. It is also ideal for parties or as a cold supper. Serve with baguette rolls, ciabatta rolls, dark farmhouse bread, or white bread as a side dish.
