Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 1 kg flour
- 2 packets of dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 100 g sugar
- 500 ml sweet cream
- 6 eggs
- e.g. raisins
- e.g. hazelnuts
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes
without butter – only with cream
Mix the flour with sugar, salt, and dried yeast. I always warm the flour slightly in the microwave. Knead in the lukewarm cream and five eggs until the dough is very elastic and no longer sticky. Then I let the dough rise in the oven, which I heat up briefly and then turn off again, until it has increased significantly in size. In the meantime, soak the raisins in warm water for a few minutes, place them in a sieve, let them drain, and then coat them in flour. Separate the remaining egg. Knead the risen dough with the raisins thoroughly, form three equal strands, and add hazelnuts to each strand, if desired. Then I braid it into a beautiful plait, brush it with egg yolk, and stud it with hazelnuts. Now bake in the oven at 180°C for 45 minutes.
