Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 5 egg yolks
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 250 g sugar
- 125 ml water, lukewarm
- 250 ml oil
- 375 g flour
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 5 egg whites
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 150 g powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp water
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes
Beat egg yolks, sugar, and vanilla sugar until frothy, then stir in water and oil. Mix flour and baking powder, gradually stirring in. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold in. Stir the cocoa powder into half of the batter. First, place 2 tablespoons of the light batter in the center of the springform pan. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of the dark batter onto the light batter. Repeat until all the batter is used up. Bake for 50-60 minutes in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) or 160°C (convection oven). Do the toothpick test. Glaze: Mix together icing sugar and enough water to make a thin glaze. Spread over the cooled pastry.
