Roasted Onions

The perfect roasted onions recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 3 Fresh onions
  • 3 Red onions
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Sweet paprika
  • 0,5 tsp Pimenton de la vera
  • 2 tbsp Peanut oil
  1. Peel the onions and cut into fine strips.
  1. Put the onions in a pan and sprinkle with the sugar and salt. Then knead the onions with your hands. Add the paprika and mix again.
  1. Now pour the oil over the onions and mix.
  1. Slowly fry the onions over a low heat, turning occasionally. When the onion water has evaporated and the onions have turned brown, turn off the pan and let the onions stir a little, they should no longer be moist.
  1. The fried onions taste good with grilled meat or liver dumplings.
