Preserved Cherries
The perfect preserved cherries recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
Besides that
- 3 El. Heaped Sugar
- Boiling hot water
- A large pot of water
- Wash, remove the stalk and stone the cherries. To remove the stone, I cut the cherries in half and removed the core like that.
- Put the cherries in a glass and pour the sugar on top. Now fill up with boiling hot water until the glass is full. Close the lid well.
- Place the jars in the saucepan with the lids down. The glasses must not touch. Now pour enough water into the pot until the glasses are halfway in water.
- Bring the water to a boil. Turn the heat down a bit, but the water should still boil bubbling. Reduce for about 30 minutes.
- Then carefully lift the glasses out of the water with a kitchen towel and turn them over (caution hot). Let it cool down (only now draws a vacuum) and ideally store it in the cellar.
That’s how we like to eat them
- Chill the cherries together with the liquid in the refrigerator, then fill them into bowls. Eat it either as a refreshing dessert or with a meat dish. Goes very well with meat rice, for example
