Besides that

  • 3 El. Heaped Sugar
  • Boiling hot water
  • A large pot of water
  1. Wash, remove the stalk and stone the cherries. To remove the stone, I cut the cherries in half and removed the core like that.
  2. Put the cherries in a glass and pour the sugar on top. Now fill up with boiling hot water until the glass is full. Close the lid well.
  3. Place the jars in the saucepan with the lids down. The glasses must not touch. Now pour enough water into the pot until the glasses are halfway in water.
  4. Bring the water to a boil. Turn the heat down a bit, but the water should still boil bubbling. Reduce for about 30 minutes.
  5. Then carefully lift the glasses out of the water with a kitchen towel and turn them over (caution hot). Let it cool down (only now draws a vacuum) and ideally store it in the cellar.

That’s how we like to eat them

  1. Chill the cherries together with the liquid in the refrigerator, then fill them into bowls. Eat it either as a refreshing dessert or with a meat dish. Goes very well with meat rice, for example
