Apple dessert with oat flakes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 apples, sour
  • 75 g butter or margarine
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 tsp, smothered cinnamon
  • 1 tsp, levelled vanilla sugar
  • 3 dl oat flakes
  • Butter, for greasing

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Äppelkaka, Swedish dessert

Preheat oven to 225°C (top/bottom heat). Peel, quarter, core, and slice the apples. Grease an ovenproof dish (approx. 20×30 cm) or a springform pan (26 cm diameter) with a little butter. Arrange the apple slices in the dish. Mix the dry ingredients together. Work the butter in with your hands and then sprinkle over the apple slices. Bake on the middle rack for 20-25 minutes. In Sweden, this apple cake is served warm with vanilla ice cream, vanilla sauce, or whipped cream.
