Matjes salad Nordic style

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 750 g matjes fillet(s), Nordic style
  • 500 g salad cream, with 20% fat
  • 1 jar pickled gherkins (cucumber sticks)
  • 2 tbsp cucumber juice
  • 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • Pepper, white
  • 2 tsp, heaped dill, dried
  • 3 shallots

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Remove the herring fillets from the package, pat off any oil, and cut the fish into strips. Peel the shallots and dice them. Cut the cucumber sticks into thirds lengthwise and dice them. Place everything in a bowl. Add the wine vinegar, cucumber juice, pepper, and dill and mix gently. Let it marinate for 1-2 hours.
