Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 6 rolls (from the previous day)
  • ½ liter of milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 75 g sugar
  • 1 bag of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 500 g apples, peeled, pitted, in wedges
  • 80 g raisins
  • 50 g almond sticks or almond flakes
  • Butter, in flakes

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cut the rolls into thin slices and let them soak in the milk. Whisk the eggs with sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt and add to the rolls. Grease a baking dish and alternate layers of breadcrumbs, apples, and raisins. Sprinkle with slivered almonds and top with butter flakes. Bake at 175°C for 40-50 minutes until golden brown. Tip: Serve with vanilla sauce, if desired.
