Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 500 ml red wine
- 150 ml water
- 100 ml orange juice
- 3 tbsp sugar, to taste
- 5 cloves
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
- 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
- 1 star anise
- ½ lemon(s), zest

tried a lot and this is the result!
First, bring the water, juice, sugar, and the remaining ingredients, except for the wine, to a boil in a saucepan. Then add the red wine. Be careful not to let it boil, or too much of the alcohol will evaporate! I let the mulled wine steep for at least 15 minutes, but it tastes better when heated for a longer time. Remove the cinnamon stick, star anise, and cloves before drinking.
