Advent cake with speculatius

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g speculatius biscuits
  • 250 g butter, soft
  • 200 g sugar
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 300 g flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 50 g cocoa powder
  • 150 g chocolate shavings
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 250 ml milk
  • Chocolate glaze or powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Roughly chop the speculatius biscuits. Beat the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and eggs until fluffy. Add the flour, milk, baking powder, cinnamon, and cocoa powder and mix until evenly distributed. Then gently stir in the crushed speculatius biscuits and chocolate shavings. Pour the batter into a greased springform pan (tip: use baking spray) and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (fan oven) for about 50 minutes. Decorate with chocolate glaze or powdered sugar, if desired.
