Afghan Style Tomato Salad

The perfect afghan style tomato salad recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 8 Ripe, large tomatoes
  • 2 Medium-Sized red onions
  • 1 bunch Coriander
  • 1 bunch Fresh mint
  • 2 Small, hot, green peppers
  • 0,5 bunch Spring leek
  • 1 Lime
  • Salt
  1. Wash the tomatoes, quarter them and remove the stalks. Then cut into slices or pieces. Peel, halve and thinly slice the red onions. Wash the small peppers and cut them into fine slices.
  2. Wash, clean and finely chop the coriander, mint and spring onions.
  3. Mix the tomato pieces with the onions, spring onions, chopped herbs and peppers. Halve the lime and squeeze both halves over the salad. Season everything with salt to taste.
  4. This tomato salad goes well with most oriental dishes and is not missing on any Afghan table.
