American chocolate chip cookies

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g butter or margarine
  • 150 g raw cane sugar, brown
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 230 g flour
  • 1 tsp, leveled baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 200 g dark chocolate

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Cream the butter or margarine with the raw cane sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt until fluffy. Beat in the egg. Sift the flour with the baking powder and baking soda and fold into the butter mixture. Roughly chop the chocolate and fold 150g of it into the batter. Using two teaspoons, form the dough into balls about 3cm in diameter and place them well apart (cookies will spread) on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Sprinkle with the remaining chocolate. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C (convection oven) for about 15 minutes. Makes about 40 cookies.
