Apple fritters with vanilla ice cream

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 apples
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 200 g flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 250 ml milk
  • 2 m.-sized eggs
  • 1 tbsp clarified butter
  • 3 tbsp cinnamon sugar
  • 500 g ice cream, vanilla

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Rinse the apples, peel them, and remove the cores with an apple corer. Cut the apples into approximately 1 cm thick rings, sprinkle them with sugar, and cover them with a kitchen towel. Mix the flour, salt, and milk with a hand mixer. Separate the eggs, fold the egg yolks into the flour mixture. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, and fold them into the batter. Heat the lard in a pan. Dip the apple slices into the batter with a fork and fry them in the lard for about 3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove them from the pan and let them drain on two layers of kitchen paper. This will absorb the excess fat. Divide the apple fritters among 4 plates and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Top each with a portion of vanilla ice cream and serve the fritters while still warm.
