Apple – ginger – compote

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g apples, sour
  • 40 g fresh ginger
  • 100 g apricot(s), dried
  • 200 ml cider
  • 4 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 60 g sugar
  • 400 ml milk
  • 1 pack of sauce powder (vanilla)
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Wash, peel, core, and slice the apples. Peel and finely dice the ginger. Dice the apricots. Place the apples, apricots, cider, ginger, lemon juice, cinnamon stick, and sugar in a saucepan. Cover and simmer for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, pour 400 ml of milk into a second saucepan. Remove 5 tablespoons of this and mix with the sauce mix. Bring the milk to a boil with 2 tablespoons of sugar and stir in the sauce mix, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil once and let cool. Serve the vanilla sauce with the compote.
