Apple-pear jam

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g apples (Boskop or other)
  • 500 g pear(s)
  • 1 pack of gelling sugar, 1:2
  • 1 pack of citric acid
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 1 vanilla pod(s), pulp

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 4 minutes; Total time approx. 1 day 24 minutes

Peel, core, and grate the apples and pears. Place them in a large pot and mix thoroughly with the remaining ingredients. Cover and let stand for a few hours (preferably overnight). Then bring to a boil according to the package instructions for the gelling sugar. Remove the cinnamon stick and vanilla pod, and pour the jam into hot, rinsed jars. Immediately close the jars and turn them upside down. This is a great jam for using up those surplus apples and pears in September.
