Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 large potatoes
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 250 g cheese (Emmental), grated
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Peel and quarter the potatoes, then slice them into a larger bowl. Peel and halve the onion, then slice it into the bowl. Add 125g of Emmental cheese, season with salt, pepper, and paprika, and mix thoroughly. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. In a bowl, thoroughly mix the eggs and cream, season with salt, pepper, and paprika, and spread over the potatoes. Place in a preheated oven at approximately 180°C. After approximately 15-20 minutes, sprinkle the remaining cheese over the gratin and bake for another 20 minutes, until cooked through.
