Ingredients

For the dough

  • 120 g Butter
  • 120 g White sugar
  • 2 tsp Vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 200 g Sifted flour
  • 2 tsp Baking powder

For the cream

  • 450 ml Milk
  • 5 tbsp Agave syrup
  • 2 tbsp Vanilla sugar
  • 4 tbsp Food starch
  • 1 Egg

For covering

  • 6 Apples (Boskoop)

Instructions

  • For the pudding cream, heat 400 ml milk and mix 50 ml milk with the agave syrup, cornstarch, vanilla sugar and an egg in an extra bowl. Stir into the hot milk, remove from the hob and let cool down a little.
  • For the dough, mix the butter with the sugar and vanilla sugar until the sugar has dissolved. Add the eggs one by one. Mix the flour with the baking powder and add a spoonful to the dough.
  • Line the baking sheet with wet greaseproof paper. This way the cake stays in "shape".
  • Place the dough on the baking tray. Halve the apples, stone them and cut into a fan shape, place them on the dough and pour the cream pudding between the apple halves.
  • Bake the cake at 160 ° C for about 45 minutes in the fan oven.
