Apple – plum – jam

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 750 g plums, prepared and weighed
  • 250 g apples, sour, prepared, weighed
  • 1 kg gelling sugar, 1:1
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 pinches of clove powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 4 hours; Total time approx. 4 hours 30 minutes

Wash and core the plums and apples, peel the apples, and cut the fruit into very small pieces (you may need to wear rubber gloves when handling the plums!). Mix the fruit pieces with the sugar and spices and let them steep in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours. Rinse the jars with hot water, preferably in the dishwasher. Mix the fruit and sugar mixture thoroughly again before cooking. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil gently for 4 minutes, stirring continuously. Then fill the screw-top jars to the brim, using a funnel if possible, and place the jars on a damp cloth while filling. Seal each jar immediately and place the lid on for 15 minutes.
