Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 2 kg pear(s)
- lemon juice
- 150 ml apple juice
- 1 ½ cinnamon sticks
- e.g. vanilla, optional
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour
vegan, approx. 10 glasses
Peel the pears and quarter or dice them. Spray the sliced pears with lemon water to prevent them from turning brown. Place the pears in a saucepan and cook with the other ingredients until soft. When the pears are nice and soft, puree everything with a hand blender. No matter what type of glass you use (canning jars, jam jars, etc.), they must be heat-resistant and in good condition, with no cracks or lids that don’t close well. It’s best to sterilize the jars in the oven for 10 minutes at 150°C (top/bottom heat) to prevent bacteria from growing. It’s important that you fill the finished puree into about 10 cleaned jars while it’s still very hot. Screw the lids on the jars and screw them on tightly. Let the puree cool, then store in a cool, dark place. The fruit should be in excellent condition for pear preserving. Overripe fruit that’s already starting to develop dark spots should be discarded and processed differently.
