Apple turnovers

Spread the love

Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 50 g sugar
  • 40 g margarine
  • 1 egg(s)
  • ½ pack of dry yeast
  • 100 ml milk
  • 5 small apples
  • 1 lemon(s), the juice
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 15 g cream powder (vanilla flavor)
  • 75 ml milk
  • 1 pinch(s) cinnamon powder
  • some water

Instructions

Working time approx. 50 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours

Combine the flour, sugar, and yeast in a bowl and mix. Heat the margarine and milk. Once the margarine has completely melted, combine it with the flour, sugar, yeast, and egg and knead until the dough no longer sticks to your hands. Shape the dough into a ball, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size. Peel and core the apples, and cut into small cubes. Squeeze the lemon and add the juice to the apples in a saucepan. Simmer the ingredients for 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Whisk the cream powder with the milk until well combined. Roll out the dough thinly between two layers of cling film and cut into squares. Place a tablespoon of the stewed apples in the center of the squares, fold the corners inward, and press them inwards to form a hollow. Add a teaspoon of cream to the hollow. Bake in a preheated oven (180°C fan/convection oven) for 10 minutes. Mix powdered sugar with a little water and a pinch of cinnamon and use it to glaze the still hot apple turnovers.
