Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 650 g apples
- 20 g coconut blossom sugar or brown sugar
- 50 g butter, possibly less
- 1 tsp, smothered cinnamon
- 1 dashes lemon juice, optional
- possibly raisins if required
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes
for desserts, cakes or puff pastry
Peel and core the apples. Cut into small pieces. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the sugar and sauté. Stir in the cinnamon. Add the apple pieces and mix well. Simmer gently on low heat for about 15 minutes, depending on the firmness of the apple. Stir occasionally. Add a squeeze of lemon juice, if desired. Notes: Please adjust the sugar and lemon ratio to your liking. You may need more or less depending on the sweetness of the apples. If desired, you can add raisins. I usually use this to make my “Apple Cinnamon Dessert.” It also goes well with rice pudding and semolina pudding. Depending on the type of apple, the compote can be very sweet, so you’ll need less sugar for further use. If you need this compote for puff pastry or cake and therefore need less sauce, simply reduce the butter and sugar.
