Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 700 g flour
- 1 cube of yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 600 ml water, lukewarm
- 2 tsp salt
- 100 g bacon or ham, diced
- 100 g cheese, grated
- 1 large onion(s), diced
- possibly water or beer for spraying
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes
Prepare a soft (!) yeast dough from flour, yeast, sugar, water, and salt. Let the dough rise for about 1 hour. In the meantime, fry the bacon or ham cubes together with the diced onion and then let them cool. Then mix the bacon and onion mixture along with the grated cheese into the yeast dough. With floured hands, “pull” out the rolls as desired—do not shape them—and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 20-30 minutes. Towards the end of the baking time, spray with water or beer, if desired.
