  • 1 cinnamon stick(s)
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 3 carnations
  • 2 star anise
  • 250 g rock sugar, light

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest period approx. 14 days; Total time approx. 14 days 15 minutes

A great gift for the Christmas season.

Wash the apples, core them, and cut them into wedges. Do not peel them. Halve the vanilla pod. Combine all ingredients in a large pot and stir vigorously. Cover and let steep for 2 weeks. Taste occasionally and add more sweetener if desired. Strain the liquid through a sieve and pour into clean bottles. Serve the baked apple schnapps hot in pinneckens with a dash of cream and a straw. Tip: Don’t throw away the preserved apples; you can use them for apple pie.
