Baking: Apple Pie with Meringue Topping

Ingredients
 

* for the dough

  • 2 Eggs
  • 120 g Sugar
  • 0,25 Vials Lemon flavor
  • 150 g Flour

* for covering

  • 4 small Apples
  • Or 3 large ones, about 700g
  • 0,5 Orange

* for the meringue

  • 2 Egg Whites
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt

Instructions
 

  • Squeeze out the orange. Peel the apples and cut into small pieces. Then add orange juice.
  • For the dough, beat the sugar and eggs until frothy. Stir in the aroma. Mix the flour and baking powder and stir in as well.
  • Put the dough in a greased springform pan sprinkled with flour or breadcrumbs.
  • Place the apple pieces on top and press down a little, pour orange juice over them.
  • Now bake in the oven preheated to 175 ° C for about 45-55 minutes.
  • Shortly before the end of the baking time, beat the egg whites, sugar and salt until very stiff. Then spread this on the apples.
  • Put back in the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes, until the meringue is slightly brown.
  • Take the cake out of the oven. Use a knife to loosen the meringue from the edge. Leave in the cake tin until completely cold.
