Ingredients
* for the dough
- 2 Eggs
- 120 g Sugar
- 0,25 Vials Lemon flavor
- 150 g Flour
* for covering
- 4 small Apples
- Or 3 large ones, about 700g
- 0,5 Orange
* for the meringue
- 2 Egg Whites
- 50 g Sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
Instructions
- Squeeze out the orange. Peel the apples and cut into small pieces. Then add orange juice.
- For the dough, beat the sugar and eggs until frothy. Stir in the aroma. Mix the flour and baking powder and stir in as well.
- Put the dough in a greased springform pan sprinkled with flour or breadcrumbs.
- Place the apple pieces on top and press down a little, pour orange juice over them.
- Now bake in the oven preheated to 175 ° C for about 45-55 minutes.
- Shortly before the end of the baking time, beat the egg whites, sugar and salt until very stiff. Then spread this on the apples.
- Put back in the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes, until the meringue is slightly brown.
- Take the cake out of the oven. Use a knife to loosen the meringue from the edge. Leave in the cake tin until completely cold.
