Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 350 g sugar
- 200 ml water
- 1 vanilla pod(s), scrape out the pulp
- 2 bananas, ripe, peeled and mashed
- 750 ml vodka
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Make a simple syrup from sugar and water. Mix and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. When the liquid is clear, remove from the heat and add the scraped vanilla seeds and pod. Let cool slightly. Place the mashed bananas in a clean container. Add the warm syrup and vodka. Seal the container and let stand in a cool, dark place for three to four days. Shake or stir once or twice a day to prevent the fruit mixture from clumping. Pour the mixture through a fine sieve. Discard the solids. The liqueur will still be cloudy. Seal the container and let stand until the liquid is clear. Do not move the bottle! Strain the clear liquid into a clean container. Seal and let mature for another month. If sediment forms again, strain the liquid again before serving. Makes approximately 1 liter.
