Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 30 g butter
  • 1 onion(s), finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 125 ml beer, dark
  • 5 tbsp veal stock or other broth
  • Caraway, ground
  • salt and pepper
  • possibly mushrooms

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Ideal for meatballs, meatloaf or roast leftovers

Sauté the onions in butter. Peel the garlic and press it in. Add the beer and veal stock and simmer for 8 minutes. Season with pepper, salt, and caraway. This sauce is also delicious when sautéed with some mushrooms and the chopped onion. If desired, you can strain the sauce through a fine sieve.
