Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1,200 g currants, frozen or fresh
  • 600 g gelling sugar 2:1
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp black pepper, ground
  • 1 pinch of chili powder

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Blend the prepared currants (washed and stemmed; thaw frozen ones first) in a blender or puree with an immersion blender. Then add them to a saucepan with the other ingredients and mix well. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring. Once boiling, cover and simmer for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour the jam into jars, seal immediately, and turn upside down until cool. This jam can be made with red or black currants, or a mixture of both.
