Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 1 onion(s)
  • ½ pack of parsley, frozen
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • salt and pepper
  • 100 g cheese (e.g. Emmental) in one piece
  • 2 gherkins
  • 4 slice(s) bacon, lean

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Meatballs (Kiev specialty)

Chop the onion as finely as possible. Dice the cheese. Tear off 4 square pieces of aluminum foil. Cut the gherkins lengthwise and slice them into fan shapes. Slice the bacon into fan shapes as well. Mix the minced meat with the egg, breadcrumbs, onions, parsley, salt, pepper, mustard, and cheese. Form 4 flat, oval dumplings. Put a dab of oil in the center of each piece of aluminum foil, place a meatball on each, and top with bacon and gherkins. Lift up 2 opposite sides of the aluminum foil and fold them, then fold up the other sides to prevent any juices from leaking out. Cook the parcels in a preheated oven at 180°C (fan oven) for 15-20 minutes, then serve in the foil. Ideally, the dumpling, and especially the cheese on the bottom, should be slightly baked. Serve with baguette or bread.
