Blackcurrant jam with "Hicks"

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1.4 kg black currants
  • ½ liter liqueur (Black Cat)
  • 1 kg gelling sugar 2:1

Instructions

Working time approx. 50 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

with the liqueur classic “Black Cat”

Bring the cleaned berries and liqueur to a boil, add the sugar, and simmer for another 3 to 4 minutes. Test the setting time. If the jam sets immediately, it’s ready. If not, let it simmer briefly. Immediately pour into jars that have been rinsed with hot water, turn upside down, and let cool. It also tastes great on waffles, pancakes, and in yogurt and quark. We also like to serve it with savory cheese. A tip for testing the setting time: Place a small plate and spoon in the refrigerator beforehand. This will help the jam set faster.
