A Simple Remedy to Get Grease Stains Out of Clothes: Treat Before You Wash

You can get rid of grease stains with inexpensive products that are in every home. Removing grease stains from clothing is difficult, but possible. If you notice such pollution on the fabric, it is better to immediately engage in the laundry. It is much more difficult to remove an old stain. Such a thing should not be washed in a washing machine without treatment, otherwise, it will be even more difficult to remove the stain.

Dishwashing liquid

This is one of the most effective remedies for greasy stains. Rub the dishwashing liquid into the grease stain and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Then wash the item in the machine. There is no need to rinse before washing.

Laundry soap

Soak the stained garment in hot water and rub it with laundry soap. Leave the thing for at least 2 hours, then wash it in the normal way. The method is particularly effective against fresh stains.

Baking soda

Baking soda can be used on natural and delicate fabrics, as well as on pants. Mix the baking soda with water in a 1:1 ratio. Apply to the soiled area and leave for 30 minutes. Then scrub the stain with an unwanted toothbrush. Rinse off baking soda residue with warm water and machine wash the thing.

Starch and Milk

Dilute 4 tablespoons of potato starch in 50 ml of milk. Rub the mixture into the grease stain and leave it overnight. The starch should dry overnight. In the morning, rinse the stain under running water and wash the thing in a machine or by hand.

Alcohol

High-percent alcohol removes even the oldest stains that “do not take” any other method. To enhance the effect, you can add a couple of drops of vinegar to a spoonful of alcohol.

Soak the garment in hot water, and then pour a tablespoon of pure alcohol on the stain. Leave it for 10 minutes. Then wash the garment in a machine with a liquid laundry detergent. Alcohol can ruin fabric, so test it on an inconspicuous area of the garment first.
