How to Remove Sweat Stains From Clothes: 4 Effective Ways

Even old sweat stains can be laundered with inexpensive home remedies.

How to remove sweat stains with baking soda

This method is suitable for white and light-colored clothing. Make a thick solution of baking soda – 4 tablespoons of powder in 200 ml of water. Apply the baking soda pulp to the sweat stains with your hands or toothbrush. Leave it for an hour and wash the thing by hand or in the machine. Washing water should be no hotter than 30 degrees, otherwise, the stains will absorb more.

Getting sweat stains out with hydrogen peroxide

Another way to remove sweat from white fabrics is to soak the thing in a solution of hydrogen peroxide. Mix a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide with a liter of warm, but not hot water. Soak the thing for 30 minutes and wash it in warm water. Do not use peroxide on colored fabrics – it can ruin the item.

Removing sweat stains with laundry soap

You can remove fresh sweat stains with laundry soap on light, dark, and colored fabrics. With old dirt, this method does not always cope. Grate a piece of laundry soap on a coarse grater and dissolve it in warm water. Soak the thing in this mixture for 2-3 hours and wash it in the usual way.

How to wash sweat stains with salt

A salt solution can be used for fabrics of any color and material. This method removes not only the sweat stain but also its smell, as well as traces of deodorant. Dissolve 2 tablespoons of salt with a slide in 500 ml of water. Apply the solution to the garment for three hours and then wash the thing. If the stain does not come out, add grated laundry soap to the salt solution.
