Detox Cure: Detox Smoothies With A Feel-Good Effect

Smoothies are perfect for a detox diet. They provide you with healthy nutrients and give you new power! Find all the info and delicious recipes here.

Everyone knows them, the little sins of everyday life: coffee, nicotine, the after-work beer – to name just a few.

But it’s not just what we eat and drink that can put a strain on our bodies; stress, exhaust fumes, and UV rays can also have a negative impact on how we feel.

From a purely physiological point of view, our body is able to eliminate harmful substances – kidneys and liver work day and night to rid our body of toxins.

However, if there are too many, it can lead to overload in the long term: We feel sluggish, tired, and listless.

A detox cure can work wonders! Detox smoothies are particularly popular.

What does detox mean anyway?

Detox comes from detoxification and stands for the detoxification of the body. Specifically, this means abstaining from unhealthy foods such as caffeine, animal foods, and sugar, as well as nicotine and alcohol for several days or even weeks.

The plan includes healthy, light food and exercise.

Detox smoothies are a great and easy way to give the body exactly the nutrients it needs – and at the same time take the strain off the organism.

Another advantage is that detox smoothies don’t require much preparation and can be made in no time.

The drinks help to relieve the gastrointestinal tract, stimulate the metabolism and, by the way, you even lose one or two annoying kilos.

This is how the detoxification cure works

Ideally, you should set aside 1-2 days of detoxification before you start the cure.

This means no sugar, no coffee, or black tea.

Otherwise, it does not need much preparation. Of course, you should not be without a blender! You will also need a large supply of fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, and possibly other ingredients that you want to mix into your smoothies.

It’s best to think about which smoothie recipes you want to make before you go shopping and make a shopping list.

The basics of the smoothie detox cure

Due to their thick consistency, smoothies keep you full for a long time – so you don’t have to starve yourself during the cure.

Even after the cure, whole juice or smoothie days should find a place in your diet.

If you integrate them into your daily routine, you can prolong the positive effect. Whether as a meal replacement or as a healthy snack: smoothies give you new power and increase your vitality.

But be careful with ready-made products – they often contain a very high fruit content, i.e. fructose, which makes the smoothie a real calorie bomb.

If you make your own smoothie at home, you can decide what goes into the blender.
The higher the vegetable content, the healthier and lower in calories the smoothie.

Important info:

  1. Per day you take five smoothies. The fruit and vegetable content should vary.
  2. You should not do the smoothie detox diet for more than three days at a time. Detox smoothies are very healthy – but they should not be the only thing on our menu as part of a complete diet.
Often, just one detox day a week is enough to notice the positive effects of the smoothies.

What you need for your detox cure

  1. Fresh vegetables: Leafy vegetables such as spinach, chard, or the leaves of beet and carrot greens are best suited. But zucchini or cucumber also fit perfectly into your smoothie – just like lettuce. Vegetables are rich in vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals.
  2. Fruit: Apple, kiwi, mango, banana, and co. make your smoothie sweeter and provide many vitamins and other vital substances. The fats in avocados also help the body absorb fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K.
  3. A squeeze of lemon or lime juice should be added to any smoothie – it boosts the metabolism.
  4. Fresh herbs not only spice up the flavor of your smoothie but also contain essential oils that have a positive effect on your digestion: try mint or basil. In addition, ginger has an anti-inflammatory effect and strengthens our immune system.
  5. In the end, mix everything with still mineral water or unsweetened vegetable juices.
  6. Chia seeds or flax seeds will make your smoothie even creamier and more filling.
  7. Algae powders like chlorella or spirulina are said to bind toxins and increase the detox effect.
