Blood Orange Syrup
The perfect blood orange syrup recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- Blood oranges for 2 liters of juice
- 1000 g Sugar
- 2 Lemons
- Squeeze the blood oranges, pour the juice through a sieve so that the rest of the pulp is caught. Measure out 2 liters of juice. Squeeze the lemons and mix the juice with the blood orange juice.
- Mix the juice with the sugar in a very large saucepan. Attention it boils up very high, the pot should be very high.
- Bring the whole thing to a boil and simmer until it has a slightly thicker consistency.
- In the meantime, rinse the bottles or glasses with hot water.
- Pour the hot syrup into the bottles or glasses, close them and turn them upside down for about 10 minutes. Then let it cool down completely.
- Store in a cool and dark place.
