Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 5 rolls, stale
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 500 ml milk
  • ½ pack of baking powder
  • butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Grease a baking dish. Cut the stale rolls into 4 pieces and place them in the dish. Pour the milk into a measuring jug. Add the egg, sugar, and baking powder and whisk vigorously. Pour the egg wash over the stale rolls, allowing them to absorb the milk. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Bake on the middle rack for about 30 minutes. Just before the end of baking, spread a little butter on top and bake for another 5 minutes. Vanilla sauce is delicious with the mixture.
