Buttermilk Apple Waffles

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 125 g butter or margarine
  • 50 g sugar
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 250 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 250 ml buttermilk
  • 1 large apple

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

makes about 14 waffles

Cream the butter or margarine with the sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Gradually stir in the salt and eggs. Combine the flour with the baking powder and add it to the butter and egg mixture along with the buttermilk. Mix everything well until the batter is creamy. Peel the apple, chop it very finely, add it to the batter, and mix everything briefly. Pour 2 tablespoons of batter into the preheated waffle iron and bake until golden brown. This batter makes about 14 waffles.
