Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 75 g butter, soft
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 150 g semolina
  • 150 g flour
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 200 ml milk
  • 1 jar sweet cherries or morello cherries
  • Butter, for the casserole dish and the butter flakes

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

The quick version with semolina

Cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Gradually add the eggs and mix. Slowly add the semolina and the flour mixed with the baking powder. Add enough milk to form a stiff dough. Pour the dough into a greased baking dish and scatter the drained cherries over it. Finally, scatter a few flakes of butter over the Kirschenmichel and bake in the oven at 175°C for about 40-45 minutes. Serve with vanilla sauce.
