Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 1 kg potatoes (peel and roughly chop)
- 500 g carrot(s), (peel & roughly chop)
- 1 small onion(s) (peel & finely chop)
- Paprika powder
- salt and pepper
- nutmeg
- possibly herbs

Once all ingredients (except the spices) have been peeled and chopped, combine everything in a large pot of water and bring to a boil. Add 2 teaspoons of salt and, if desired, 1 teaspoon of garden herbs to the boiling water. Cooking time depends on how thickly the vegetables were cut; it can take anywhere from 20-40 minutes. The carrots are ready when they can be easily pecked with a fork. After cooking, drain the water and mash everything thoroughly, then season.
