Casserole: Waffle Casserole with Apples and Vanilla Sauce

- 20 piece Waffle hearts *
- 2 piece Apples Boskoop
- 30 g Dried cranberries
- 2 cl Grappa
- 2 tablespoon Raw cane sugar
- 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- 100 ml Cream
- 1 piece Organic egg
- 1 tablespoon Raw cane sugar
- 1 recipe Custard*
- Chop the cranberries and pour the grappa over them. Let it steep for three hours, covered.
- 10 Place the waffle hearts – the rest of the filled waffles – in a small baking dish. Greasing is not necessary.
- Quarter and peel the apples, remove the core and grate roughly. Mix with the pickled cranberries and spread on the wafer layer. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Layer the remaining 10 waffle hearts on top.
- Mix the egg, cream and sugar well in a blender jar and then pour over the waffles.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180 ° C for approx. 35 – 40 minutes. Remove and arrange on a vanilla sauce mirror. Sprinkle with some powdered sugar.
