Ingredients for 14 servings:

  • 3 kg minced meat (mixed pork and lamb)
  • 15 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp, crushed paprika powder, sweet
  • ½ liter of ice-cold water (or ice cubes)
  • salt and pepper
  • 500 g onion(s), finely chopped
  • 200 g gherkins, finely chopped
  • 5 tbsp mustard, medium hot
  • Cayenne pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

For the cevapcici, combine the spices, crushed garlic, and ground meat. Add ice water or ice cubes and knead firmly until well combined. Season to taste and form the meat mixture into rolls about 3 cm in diameter and about 6 cm long. Grill these on a hot grill until well-cooked on all sides. Meanwhile, mix the onions with mustard and the finely chopped gherkins, and season with salt and pepper. Serve with the meat. Fried potatoes are a good side dish.
