Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 rolls, from the day before
  • 2 onions
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 100 g cheese (medium-aged Gouda)
  • 400 g minced meat, mixed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp marjoram
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Soak the bread rolls in cold water. Peel and dice the onions and garlic. Finely dice the cheese. Place the minced meat in a bowl, add the squeezed-out bread rolls, onions, garlic, cheese, eggs, marjoram, salt, and pepper. Mix the batter well and season to taste. Form 8 meatballs, coat in breadcrumbs, and press them down lightly. Heat the oil and fry the meatballs, turning occasionally.
