Cherry mulled wine jelly

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 ml cherry juice (not from canned cherries, but homemade)
  • 300 ml red wine
  • 3 bags of mulled wine spice
  • 1 small jar of rum (shot glass)
  • 1 kg gelling sugar (1:1)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

enough for approx. 6 glasses

Heat the cherry juice and red wine with the three sachets of mulled wine spice and let it steep for 15 minutes. Discard the mulled wine spice. Then stir in the gelling sugar and simmer for 5 minutes. Finally, stir in the rum. Immediately pour into hot, rinsed twist-off jars, screw on the lids, and turn the jars upside down for 2-3 minutes. Tastes delicious on warm toast.
