Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 50 ml orange juice
  • 200 g cream
  • 250 g chocolate, whole milk
  • 600 g fruit (e.g. strawberries, grapes, pineapple, raspberries, bananas, mangoes, kiwi)
  • 200 g biscuits, small or chopped cake scraps, e.g. from a sponge cake
  • Pistachios, chopped almonds and nuts, sugar sprinkles, chocolate sprinkles

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Great for a child’s birthday party!

Bring the orange juice and cream to a boil in a saucepan, then remove from the heat. Break the chocolate into pieces, add them to the pan, and melt while stirring. Wash, trim, or peel the fruit, and cut into bite-sized pieces if necessary. Arrange the fruit and cookies or cake pieces decoratively. Place the pistachios, almonds, nuts, and sprinkles separately in small bowls. Place the pan with the melted chocolate on a candle-lit hotplate. Give each child a fondue fork, skewer fruit, cookies, and cake to their heart’s content, and dip the fork into the chocolate. Sweet tooths can roll their chocolate morsels in pistachios, almonds, nuts, or sprinkles. Be sure the chocolate doesn’t get too hot while heating, or it will clump. This is why you should place the chocolate on a hotplate with tea lights; a fondue hotplate generates too much heat.
