Chrisi’s Quick Bacon Rolls
The perfect chrisi’s quick bacon rolls recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 cube Fresh yeast
- 1 tsp Sugar or xylitol
- 375 g Flour
- 1 medium sized Onion, diced and steamed
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 125 g Smoked bacon, diced
- 165 ml Water, (room temperature)
- Crumble the yeast in a small bowl and sprinkle with the sugar. Cover and set aside until the yeast has become liquid (takes about 15 min.)
- In the meantime, briefly leave out the ham cubes in a pan and let them cool down a little.
- Put flour, onion (or onion powder), omitted ham cubes (may still be a little warm) and the water in a bowl. Add liquid yeast and, best of all, stir everything thoroughly with a spatula.
- On a lightly floured work surface, knead everything again to a compact, but not too firm dough (it should just stick too much)
- Shape the dough into a roll and use a knife to cut pieces of the desired roll size.
- Shape the individual pieces of dough briefly into rolls and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- Bake at 180 ° C (fan oven) for about 20 minutes.
- TIP: When my son is there, I add diced sheep’s cheese to part of the dough. With small-shaped buns placed on a wreath or flat square and served with sesame, cheese, ectl. sprinkled on top they are a great party bread. I’ve also added diced olives, sun-dried tomatoes and pieces of paprika.
