Christmas apple cinnamon liqueur

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 375 ml apple juice, clear
  • 175 ml rum (40%, 54% or 80%)
  • 125 g brown sugar
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest period approx. 6 days; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 6 days 10 minutes

Bring the apple juice to a boil with the brown sugar and cinnamon stick until the sugar has dissolved. Let it cool slightly, add the rum (I always use 40%, that’s enough for us), stir, and let it steep in a cool place, covered, for about 6 days. Stir again and pour into attractive bottles. Perfect for gifting or enjoying yourself. The liqueur will keep for about a year if tightly closed and stored in a cool, dark place. I gave it as a gift last year for Christmas. Everyone loved it.
