Christmas Cookies: Cinnamon Stars
The perfect christmas cookies: cinnamon stars recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 3 Pc. Protein
- 200 g Powdered sugar
- 400 g Crushed nut’s
- 1 tbsp Cinnamon
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- Beat two egg whites until stiff and pour in half of the powdered sugar. Carefully fold in the ground nuts and cinnamon briefly. The dough should be sticky. I always take small portions of dough and roll them out on a floured work surface (or sprinkle with ground nuts) about 1 cm thick. Cut out stars of any size and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Continue like this until all of the batter is used up.
- Beat the remaining egg white until stiff and add the remaining powdered sugar and lemon juice. Beat until it is creamy and spreadable. Coat the cut out stars thickly with the white glaze.
- Bake in the preheated oven at 150 degrees top / bottom heat rather in the lower oven area for about 15 minutes. The meringue on top should stay white and the cookies on the bottom should still be moist and soft. As a precaution, it’s best to check it out after 13 minutes.
