Christmas orange salad

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 6 large oranges, untreated
  • ½ dl grenadine (pomegranate syrup)
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 lemon(s), juice
  • 2 cl Grand Marnier, approx.

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Zest one orange, then fillet each orange, reserving the juice (squeezing the flesh). Arrange the orange segments in glass bowls. Boil the orange juice with the zest, grenadine, cloves, and lemon juice for about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the heat and drizzle with Grand Marnier. Pour over the orange segments and let them steep for at least 30 minutes. If desired, garnish the oranges with chopped pistachios and a mint leaf and/or serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
