Ciabatta with minced meat filling

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 pot of basil
  • 600 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 ciabatta (approx. 400 g for final baking)
  • 2 tbsp butter (garlic butter)
  • 2 large tomatoes
  • 125g mozzarella
  • 1 tbsp oil (olive oil)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel and finely dice the onion. Wash and finely chop the basil. Knead the minced meat, onion, 2/3 of the basil, and a little pepper together. Cut a flat, wide wedge out of the bread lengthwise and spread the indentation with garlic butter (reserve the rest of the bread for another purpose). Spread the well-seasoned minced meat into the indentation and press down. Bake the ciabatta on a baking tray lined with baking paper in a preheated oven (electric oven: 200°C/fan: 175°C) for about 20 minutes. Wash and slice the tomatoes. Drain the mozzarella and slice them. Remove the ciabatta from the oven and cover it with mozzarella and tomatoes in a brick-like pattern. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and the remaining basil and drizzle with olive oil. Bake at the same temperature for about another 20 minutes. Slice the ciabatta and serve with a green salad and a delicious, chilled white wine.
